A non-governmental organization, BraveHeart Initiative has organized a mentee assessment exercise, tagged “Monthly Mentoring Forum” (MMF) for residents in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, on the 28th of January, 2024 at the office headquarters in Igarra.

The Executive Director, Ms. Priscilla Usiobaifo during the exercise educated the young girls on some of their rights in the society and admonished them to always cry out when there is any form of sexual advances or violence against them in the society.

The Program Assistant for Outreach and Mobilization, Ms. Ugochi Ikoro disclosed that the program is to educate young girls between the age of 10 to 19 years of age on sexuality education.

“This is an aspect of life that is very important in the life of an adolescent as they are growing up. We coach our young girls on how to build and present themselves in society”. She added.

Speaking with a mentee, Ms. Blessing Tomo harped on the benefit of the Monthly Mentoring Forum. She disclosed that it has helped her to know her personality, opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses as a young girl. “The monthly forum has helped to enhance sexuality and gender violence so that the rights of the youths are protected”. She added.
